I'm participating in a "do the equivalent of the Ironman in a month" thingamojob with my sister and various others, so I've been cross training a bit more than usual. Today, biked 10 miles in around 35 minutes around West Rock and then ran 4 miles in 32 minutes on the treadmill at the Yale Univ. gym. My second toe joint is still being a pill. I bought a new pair of kicks today (Saucony Kinvara 3) which should give me more room in the toe box. FYI, if you have wide feet like me, getting a 1/2 size larger, at least in a Saucony, is equivalent to the wide version of the 1/2 smaller. Thus, you get the extra fabric in the toe box with the 1/2 larger but your heel doesn't move around, and you're not subjected to the hideous colors that wide shoes come in. Win, win. |
